In many societies, like in the Iranian society, it is considered outrageous for a man to shake the hand of a woman.

Non-Existent Verbal Skills: Joseph Shaw, the chairman of the English Latin Mass Society, writing about children and the New Mass, has noted that the Novus Ordo focuses on verbal communication. Shaw points out a drawback: The Novus Ordo is faced with a category of worshipers with extremely limited, or indeed non-existent, verbal skills like children and many adults.
